Between 2001 and 2018, their bodies were found across Chicago's South and West Sides — in alleys, in abandoned buildings, in vacant lots. One at a time. Quietly. For nearly two decades.

The Question We're Asking

In 2018, a statistician ran these cases through an algorithm built to catch exactly this kind of thing — and it found a pattern. Chicago Police have never confirmed it. Only one arrest has ever come out of it.
