This week on The Last Known Moment, we're heading to Toledo, Ohio — for a case that started as a search for a missing child and has only gotten more complicated since.
Who
Kei'Mani Latigue was thirteen years old. A student at Spring Elementary School, she'd just made the honor roll and was days away from a kindness award and her fourteenth birthday. She lived with her grandmother in North Toledo, played basketball, and — by every account from the people who knew her — kept a simple routine: school, basketball, home.
When & Where
Kei'Mani was reported missing on March 18, 2025, after her grandmother came home to find the house in disarray. Six days later, on March 24, investigators found her body inside an abandoned, burned house on Miami Street in East Toledo. The Lucas County Coroner's Office ruled her death a homicide. Her father was charged with her murder within hours, and was shot by police the following day while evading arrest.
Why This Case, Why Now
This case made national headlines in 2025 — the search, the timeline, the Children Services controversy, the community's outrage. It's back in our rotation now for a reason we didn't expect: a brand-new indictment, filed just weeks ago, involving allegations that have nothing to do with Kei'Mani directly and everything to do with what may have been happening for over a decade before her death.
We're not laying out the full timeline, the evidence, or the new charges here — that's what Tuesday's episode is for.
